The Sentinel-News is seeking a Publisher for its Shelbyville, Ky. newspaper. The ideal candidate should be results-oriented, a strong strategic thinker, with excellent organizational and time management skills who can capitalize on the growth opportunities available in this market and in the region. Shelbyville is located in Shelby County and is about 30 minutes east of Louisville, Ky.   • Proven leadership and decision-making skills

  • Successful newspaper management experience, including bottom line responsibility, is essential

  • Demonstrated success in hiring, retaining, and developing high-performing personnel
  • Outstanding strategic planning and problem-solving skills
  • Experience and skill in developing, implementing, and delivering results on short and long term strategic plans
  • Innovative and creative in approaching and resolving business challenges

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and coach management team
  • Develop, implement, and ensure achievement of strategic business plan to create business, marketing and growth development for The Sentinel-News
  • Achieve desired business results
  • Actively participate in and take a leadership role in community activities and events
  • Effectively communicate with employees while maintaining a high degree of accountability
